Darkness into Light
Ongoing and personalized support is essential to recovering from an eating disorder and disordered eating. A recovering person needs to have someone in their pocket that they can reach out to in the moment who understands their struggle with zero judgement.
Clients meet with Maggie either virtually or in person and come up with a plan that is tailored to them. This could be as little as a single one hour session or as many as multiple sessions a week to full days or in person events. Clients have access to text support in between sessions so that urges and behaviors can be addressed and diverted in real time. Sessions might include meals or outings where the coach and the client can work together to have new experiences around social situations and situations involving food.
Recovery coaching, usually along with a treatment team, can be instrumental in keeping the client on a continuing path towards being recovered and living a life free from their eating disorder. Whether a client is in treatment, exiting a treatment program, stepping down from or exploring the idea of a higher level of care, an Eating Disorder Recovery Coach can assist the client in transitioning during any part of their journey.
